The Salty Score: 3/5. A clever moral puzzle beneath the time travel. This is our spoiler-light, research-based editorial review, informed by published criticism. We have not claimed a first-hand screening.

The setup

Orijinal makes a smart choice with a familiar science-fiction device: time travel is a means of testing character, not an excuse to build a lecture around clocks and diagrams. Ramees's Malayalam film follows an aspiring filmmaker whose relationship with originality becomes a moral problem once different possibilities for his life collide. Sreenath Bhasi anchors the story. The premise has a mischievous edge for anyone who works in a creative field. Imagine meeting the version of yourself who took a shortcut and discovering he has a better publicist.

What works, and what does not

The Indian Express valued the film's focus on ethical conflict even while giving it a mixed assessment. The New Indian Express was more enthusiastic about how the story connects ambition, stolen ideas and consequences. Taken together, the reviews suggest a debut with more curiosity than polish. That is a reasonable trade when the central question has substance: if success arrives through somebody else's work, what exactly have you achieved? The film's mechanics may not satisfy viewers who want rigorous science fiction, but its human stakes appear clearer than many films with larger effects budgets.

The Salty verdict

Our Salty Score is 3/5. We recommend it to viewers who prefer speculative stories that ask uncomfortable questions about choice and credit. Expect some rough edges and a premise that may feel familiar, yet also a specific Malayalam take on an overused genre tool. The best reason to watch is not to diagram the timeline afterward. It is to decide whether any version of the protagonist deserves to call his life entirely his own.

We weighed the published reviews below and assigned our own score. It is a recommendation based on that coverage, not a report from our own screening. Scores may change after a viewing.
